KK Honeymoon Trip I

This honeymoon has been long delayed since our big day was June 2011 We bought the ticket last year during the 0 fare promotion in Nov after our Big Day. And I felt very lucky to have gotten it. Now, looking and survey for the hotel and we settle for Promenade Hotel KK and took the Honeymoon Package offer by that hotel.
Now, my question is, what kind of activities should I be looking forward to? Where is a must-visit place in KK? Where can I fill my empty stomach with the cheap authentic KK food? Where can I shop till I drop with bargain as a plus?
Searching searching in the world wide web... I found some interesting sites that even have link for "Tourist Trap". It has a list of warning to tourists or first visitors to KK to be aware of the price hiking of goods and grubs.

I will be based on this map when going there... hehehe . hopefully I can cover all in 5D 4N trip.

My Sambutan Hari Ray Aidilfitri

This is more memorable as I am writing it in my blog and while working in CBS, we have incoperate lots of Hari Raya Aidilfitri activities, such as Card making, Poster about Bulan Puasa, ketupat making with the members of CBC Serasot. There are a few Muslim in Serasot and this year, we plan to do house visit. Some may wonder what is Hari Raya? it is the most significant celebration for Muslims, it signifies the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The celebration is determined by sighting of the new moon on the day, before the next month on the Muslim calendar, Syawal. The words ‘Hari Raya’ mean 'day of celebration.' And before comes the 'Hari Raya', our muslim friends goes through the month of Ramadan, which is one-month fasting period when Muslims fast from dawn till sunset. During the period of fasting, apart from eating and drinking, Muslims are also forbidden from smoking and having sexual relations. Only the sick are excused from fasting during this month. Muslims are expected to avoid lying, breaking promise or cheating during the month of Ramadan. It is to remind them of the plight of the poor and to cleanse themselves by exercising abstinence and self-control. Even the young are taught to fast. After Ramadan, our muslim friends starts the day by wearing new clothes and congregating in the mosques early in the morning to perform Hari Raya Puasa prayers followed by visiting the graves of the departed. The young will ask for forgiveness from their elders and have open house for relatives and friends to come to their house. Plenty of traditional Malay delicacies are served during this festive season. Houses are thoroughly cleaned and decorated, and lighting of oil lamps welcomes the angels which are believed to be visiting the earth during the seven days preceding the festival. The celebration lasts for a month but most of the celebration is concentrated in the first three days Visiting Muslim homes on Hari Raya Puasa, you can expect to taste a wide variety of delicious spicy dishes. Some favorite dishes that can be found in Muslims homes on this special occasion are ketupat, lontong, nasi padang and beef rendang. Beef rendang is my favourite dish of all when I go for visiting. The parents/heads of the house also give packets of money to kids when they go visiting. The packets are usually green in color and children often look forward to getting these money tokens on Hari Raya Puasa. Overall, Hari Raya Puasa is a joyous occasion for our muslims friends.
When you go visiting to our muslims friend's house, you wouldn't miss the Raya songs which are some of my favourite by Sudirman and Anuar Zain as a kid. Here are some song you should hear to help you get into the Raya mood celebration:

Billing Fraud - Telekom

Just got a call from KL to ask me to pay 2 telekom bill that was under my name and i have no idea the existing of these two account. Does it ever happen to you ever? I mean this is crazy and I have contacted CMU in Telekom building at Batu Lintang, Kuching. She was understanding and very helpful. What gets me the most is the lenght of the investivation is too long, and the coonection/communication between the contractor and Telekom is none existance. Why u ask? Because i have to be the middle man to provide all the information need to pass between the two party. If it wasnt involve this amount of money and the possible of jail tym, i wouldn't go to these trouble to waste my phone credit and time to visit the office. I gave each parties the contact number but they simply wouldn't call each other. It rise up my suspect if they actually work for each other. How could Telekom allow any Streamyx application without any verification? How could this contrator did not make any investigation? Do anyone do any proper work these day, i wonder.

HP7 Part2

Once i found out, Harry Potter 7 Part 2 is out, I cant wait for my husand to come back from Sibu to watch the movie, so I decided to watch the movie alone.
I decided to go to Star Cineplex because 1. less people and 2. earlier showtime. Its been a while i hv been to the place. It has been updated to a comfy place where they have put in additional Rest N Go chairs to give the movies goers a chance to have a massage while waiting for their show.

After watching the movie, what i love about are these moments (which i quote from another blogger's blog):
  • The Dragon Scene – Hmmm… who won’t love to catch that alive! After all, breaking into Gringotts isn’t an easy task, leave aside the thought of making an escape, that too, sneaking away with a Horcrux from Bellatrix Lestrange’s vault! Only a dragon can take you to a safer haven, and I would love to see it give a ride to Harry, Ron, and Hermione!

  • Bellatrix Lestrange Vs. Molly Weasley – Ahh! We all have had enough of Bellatrix! And we are now waiting to see Ron’s mum, Molly, take her on, wand-to-wand! I wish that Molly puts her down, so that she can give company to Voldemort in hell!

  • Neville Longbottom slaying Nagini – Calm and serene, that’s our Neville Longbottom. Enough of that boy! We just want to see you slay that pest, Nagini! Never mind that it’s one of the seven Horcruxes!

  • Voldemort Shocked – Yes. We want his eyes pop out in surprise when he finds Harry breathing, just when he thought that he has spelled Harry to death, forever! I am willing to watch Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows online just for this one wish fulfillment.

  • Dumbledore Again – WOW! Though it may only be for a few minutes, but we are eager to see our favorite old man again, never mind if we meet him in heaven or whatever place that was between Earth and heaven! I miss those blue twinkling eyes, and those half moon spectacles too!

For those haven't watched it yet, watch out for these moment in the movie. It was Awesome!

Kpg Lifestyle

It has been 4 months being adapting to kampung lifestyle. Truthfully at first, i wasn't able to cope with it because i was really a town gal. I was not able consume a few things such as:

1. Necessity
It was the Gawai tym where there are lots of family members come back to celebrate the holidays together. Then, you would expect that the road going to your house is block by not 1 , 2 but many cars. 1st of all, you will not have two way street road for a kampung road, but a small fit-for-1-car width. Can you imagine the 'jam' you have to go through just to get to your house. By the tym u reach ur house, you will find no more parking space as it was taken up by your overly crowded neighbour. U have no choice but to park in the middle of the road, knwing that you will hv to move ur car every 5 min for the car going to and frm the Bau town.
Another things is water. Especially during the 1st 2 days during gawai tym, you can 100% guarantee that you will not hv water supply becos the water source are frm the 4 dams around the kpg and when every household open their watertaps, there will definitely not enough pressure for the water to go to the household in the valley. And it so happen my house is at the valley. Can you imagine going to the "Bori Gawea" with crowds that did not have their bath just so they can save water for the evening? Or even tons of cloths which u decided not to wash because no water. It was challenging and was really a knock to my senses.
Food choices are limited here as you do not have McD, Sugarbun, high-end restaurant foods to savour by your taste buds. However, you will see more of exotics food which is a fortune in town. I was served frogs, squirel, snake, bats and many more which i do not wish to know what is serve in front of me on the dining table, as it will take away my appetite. Don't get me wrong, I love the food, high end and exotics. Pork is a everyday food here and I love pork. However, i need to slow down pork intake as i am concern for my cholesterol level and being fat... (hey, it is hard to maintain my BMI as it is, ok?)

2. Kampung Style Thinking
Kampung people are very patient and layback where as I , town gal , is always looking for fast result, fast response and fast movement of progress. Once a week meeting is too much for kampung people but too little for town gal like me. If i were to compare decision making process, town has a longer procedure than kampung committee, but kampung committee has the tendency to prolong the work to a completed result and in the end of the day, it all come to the same timeline. Decision making is also difficult because you have to consider the spirit beliefs, culture, do's and don't of a time period e.g. Mourning, and many more. For example, it is not ok to play with gongs or drum during mourning period or at any day because to do so, you have to ask permission or bribe the spirit in order to play the instrument. So, we town gals may belittle this beliefs but it meant a lot to the kpg folks in making decision according to customs beliefs.
In terms of accepting changes, it is also hard because of native set of priority. 1st - Farm (Kebun), 2nd - Beliefs / Religions, 3rd - Money / Necessity, 4th Health, last Education / community development. It is hard to penetrate to community with the focus of education or development because farming is their way of living and has not seep in their mind on how education and development can change their state of living. IN my eyes, kpg folks can see physically what the results are, fruits and vege's for sell and to provide food on the table instantly, but for education and development result is something abstract and can only be seen after few years and something that the folks are not ready to wait and see. As a development and eduction centre for the folk, it is quite a challenge and install the mind set of a ready set go thinking to involve in something they think is a waste of time. It may take a while for them to realise and hopefully in the future, my folks can surf internet through their mobile phone and buy grocery online. in 10years tyme, maybe...(finger cross)

3. Politics.
I always say "Hey, look at the bright side, you will never get involve in politics if you stay in Kpg!"... I regret saying so because in a small community like this, you will find greater politics because 1, it is a small community and 2, everyone knows everyone and everything you do. I have seen heated environment amongst the kpg folks where just after the State election was commencing and that week was full with activities from both democrat and opposition parties were involve. YB Peter Nansian and YB Anuar Ibrahim were here to give their speeches... Promises were thrown like they were true and sure, money were given out like they were grown from trees... After the campaign were over, and we know de result of the election, lets just say, the leaders don care about the social impacts are after the elections. People turning against each other, promises were not fulfil as said, suddenly depletion of money supposedly given for the community bodies e.g. JKKK, Women's group...

But as my forth month here, i am still observing my ppl and trying to understand the mismatch info and time and also foreign contributors which ignites the difficulties faced by many rural communities, in hope for the future, they will be more educated and more EI in tackling impacts from the more developed side of the country. Do you have a light bulb to help me to push them to the speed of development? ... PM me

Local Interest

My good friend, Grace asked me to join her to watch Masterpiece perform in Padawan Fair. I was a bit reluctant bcos if i am going, i will be going tom Kpg Serasot, and only after 6pm (working hours, understand?) To travel late and going through Bau - Batu Kawa Road is not ideal after dark cos there are no street light to light your way and its been a while i did not travel using that road. Anyway, all these thinking are no where close to compromised my promise to her to go to the fair. So, i decided to go.
Traveling that road, you won't be lonely cos there are lots of cars using that road but in other hand, you won't have the chance to overtake as much as you wanted. So, the way you drive depends on the crowd of driver you were with on the road.
It was drizzling and it was dark.. i tried to visualised the road , the turn and corner but it somehow felt different. And there was a part of the road was being re-seal so it was really great that i drove slow that night. If not, i may have flat tire in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere.
After 1 hour drive, i finally reached MJC and met her at Secret Recipe. I was really craving for Secret Recipe Cakes specially Chocolate Indulgence.

I paired it with Hot Mocha which is also one of my fav drinks. Plus, this branch has the most friendliest staff and efficient work. With a smile on their faces, nothing went wrong. After i settle down and catches up with my gal, we decided to parked our car there and walk to the Padawan Fair. Bringing along my trusty camera, i was really excited.
First of all there were lots of people and it was really happening. We went past the stage but Masterpiece is not on yet, so we walk about the food corner, and the game corner and there was a Beer corner. Then we notice someone wearing black trench coat with long hair and Grave called out a name "DEPHA!"... And here is the picture i took for that moment...

Then, Depha excused himself as he need to go back stage to prepare plus more and more fans taking picture with him. So, we went another round to wait for the band performance. We were so excited. And then at 11pm, the real show start...

For more pics, do check out my FB. Deep in my heart, i wish i can have the same commitment for my bidayuh band too. But alas, I cannot find any Bidayuh singer / band that are as good as this. Maybe they are still underground and are not ready to expose into the local music industry or may not have the support from the communities around. Or maybe I was not expose to the bidayuh musicians...Who knows, but I wish there are some awareness for my beloved bidayuh local musicians. Those who knows, do let me know ya... Chow 4nw.

Poco-Poco~Spiritual Dance?

Let me start this debate with the history and origine of this dance.

Quote: http://www.theminahasa.net/social/stories/pocopoco.html

I do not understand why there is such a idea even to begin in banning the dance. If to qoute : "The Perak Fatwa council' mufti, Harussani Zakaria, said the state fatwa council was convienced that the dance contained elements of christianity and spirit worship."

Ok... How do you say that the dance has elements of Christianity ? Is it because the route of dancing is a cross? Do the dancers of poco poco wear cross around their neck and rosary on their waist while dancing? And how bout the spirit of worship ? Do you chant when dancing poco poco? DO you raise your arms to the sky while dancing poco poco? Do you indecent move while dancing poco poco? Point it out to me if you say you see these in a poco poco dance.

Some say that Poco Poco is the forbidden dance of love originated from Indonesia. And whats wrong with that? What is wrong with Love? Is love an element of Christianity but not in Islam? Are you saying that Islam do not teach the followers love, kindness, patience, all the good virtue? SO, in direct translation, good value = Christianity, other than good value = Islam.

But, i am happy when Dr. Mashitah Ibrahim from the Deputy Minister's in the Prime Minister Department acclaimed to the reporter that the dance is just a dance. Dance that is part of execise, which lead people to good and healthy life.

Well, guess i don't have worry now. It's all loud and clear.

Another one bites the dust

Reading the newspaper headline today makes me sick. Why? I have been observing the news about all kinds of cons. What is a con man? These people usually have the tendancy to talk with the sweetest promises and beautiful future by just doing the simplest and some~absolutely nothing.

Why do I hate con artist? Because they are difficult to identify and I have been conned too before. Being promised a job that pays too well - left my confortable job and had a great meetings at a Hotels and luxurious places, but after a month with no pay - i have second guess. The man promsed to pay - days become weeks, weeks become months and after 6th months (can you believe it....6TH MONTHS!) with no pay, i quit. The man has the sweetest promises and words. But, through the power and nagging from both parent and banks, i finally break the curse on me.

I was left with no job, no money and no savings. With God's help, i manage to land a job as a PA in a small company and i work my way up and here i am.

Yesterday, I watched the 999 show, which is aired every wednesday in TV3. This particular one is especially special because the law enforcer manage to caugth those Nigerians who are involve with the con syndicate which lured lonely women into promised love and con them of their money to release some hold back packages from the Kastam Dept. Poor women in the other end of the network, all they hope is love but in the process, they end up with no money. These nigerians are young at age 22 & 23 years old. Coming to our country as students, but in the end, they are our foreign nightmare. We shouldn't treat them like tourist. After so many cases happened due to these nigerians, why do we still allows them to come in here as students? Why do we allow foreign students to come here to study where as our local malaysian students do not have enough places in our university? Another point to ponder.

Malaysian Ladies, please be smart and wary of these people. We are gentle and cultured yet empathising to others, maybe too much. But we must aware that bad people does come in a bad way. Most of them come in through our empathy, sympathy, kindness and all the gentle values that we had in our DNA. So, please be very careful with strangers.

First Day of Work

RIng! my phone rang at 9.30pm on a saturday night - 26th March 2011. Hello?"... "Hello! Philomena? You got the job ... and i need you to be in Kampung Serasot on Monday 28th March. Meet Mr. Faizul at the centre by 10am"... OMG! I panicked and wondering how to go back to kch in short time. I don't have much money to spare plus the other needs i might need to buy to settle down. The next morning, i called dad and he asked me to buy the earliest flight to Kch and there goes my RM180. I rushed to pack my bag, my shoes and lotions. Both my hubby and me went to farley cafe to have my last sibu kampua mee kicap. I looked at him, knowing that he is sad for the rushing moment. After our breakfast, he sent me to the airport and sent me off to the check in and boarding hall. I went to the Gate 4 and looking outside to the airplace railway. Shortly after, the Maswing groundcrew annouce the plane arrival and my heart sink to the bottom of my body to where my feet are. After the queue to the seat, then landing at kuching inter airport, i watch out for taxi stand and get my taxi coupon. For the 1st time i used a blue taxi. We always remember that taxi is with red and yellow colour in malaysia, but this time is was blue with 'Executive Taxi' stamp at the side of the 'Avanza'. After 5 minutes drive to BDC, costing me RM21 - i finally realised that i was not dreaming and call my hubby that i arrive safely to my house. My parents drove from Kampung kakeng asked me to wait for their arrival and not long after, i heard the Hilux roaring engine. We went out for a quick lunch and transfer my bag into the back cabin. All of us drove all the way to bau and stop by at a cute supermarket 'Ming Ming' and bought all my food and racion enough for 1 week until i settle down. Another 30 minute drive, we reached my grandparents place and unpacked my stuff. At 6pm, they left me to go back to Kampung Kakeng, Serian. I have trouble sleeping the first night, i cried in the phone saying to my hubby that i missed him so much. After my tears dried, i slept.

Now and then 4 food

I love chocolate, Especially chocolate Snicker. When i was younger and still schooling in high school, i always save the extra pocket money everyday and buy myself a bar (rm2.50) from Farley supermarket at the end of the week like saturday or sunday as a treat.
My latest munch was last week friday, and i was greatly disappointed. It was less nutty and smaller than last time i ate it in high school. This time was wrap in metallic shiny wrapper. However, it was the same price as it was 10 years ago. Then, i went to Delta Supermarket, where they sell mostly imported stuffs and i saw a different packaging which is not metallic shiny wrapper. It was the original old package like 10 years ago. I bought it and investigate the different between these to Snickers. One was made in Malaysia, and another one made in Australia. Both Snickers tasted differently where the one made in Australia still very nutty although the selling price is RM3.50. I am really upset where i stand by my principal to by Malaysian made products, but my debate will be on the quality.

D-I-Y Hair Dye

I have always wanted to dye my hair but alas, when come to saloon, i have my doubt and hair services can really make a hole in your pocket. That's why i opt for D.I.Y.. As i was walking at one of the aisle at Delta Supermarket, i saw one product by Kao. Liese Bobble Hair Color. It has quite a range of color and i picked Cassis Berry. I have always love red color for my hair since blond and brown is a norm for hair.
After i paid the cashier, can't wait to try it at home. The first instruction hat caught my eye was 'to try on the skin allergy test'. After 48 hours, i have the green light to go ahead with the project. Yeay! I was astonished that the 2 bottle for mixture and chemical, hand glove, moisturizer hair lotion can fit in this very small packages. Anyway, we can always count on japan to pack everything anything into small cute space.
Here it goes. From my black black hair to brownish red color.

One dinner @ Sercret Recipe

Gara-gara want to eat delicious cake, we decided to have dinner at Secret Recipe along side road of Pahlawan Road, Sibu.
We have decided to order the 'Chocolate Indulgence' cake for appetizer and i have the beef lasagne and green tea ice shave for my drink. Just what i need. Great choice for my healthy diet. As for my husband, he chosen chicken chop with chocolate mocha ice shave. It was delicious. Take a peak what we had! Enjoy!

Small Japanese eye turn big 'Sailormoon' eye

All these while, I have been looking for the perfect or almost close product that can enhance my eyes to be at least bigger than it should be. I have tried so many products from double eyelids tape, double eyelids putty, fake eye lashes, variety range of mascara from length to volume to cat-eye immitation and of course poor gal resolution - painted eyelids. For those who don't know me, i have this tiny mini eye with short lashes and not my most favorite part of my face. However, i am determine to do something about it. In the end, i saw this extension eye lashes in one of my facebook fan listing, posting out the service and all the details about eye lashes extension. I fall in love immediately. So, i called her number to make an appointment as is mention only call, no walk in or sms-es. I was very excited when i heard "hello" : a female voice at the end of the line. Made my appointment and boom : 18th march 2.30pm.
Reached at her place - layout was very comfy and homely. Lay down on the operating chair, she asked me what type would i like. Since this is my first time, i decided to leave the decision to her professional hands. There she goes, asking me to close my eyes and quickly does her work. 30 min for each eye and after 1 hour of sleep, i felt like a brand new person and not only having sleeping for 1 hour. With the lashes longer and tougher than regular fake lashes, it was able to lift up my eye lids and voi'la; natural double eyelids. I looked at the final look and i have to say; i looked like kimora lee simmons - whom i adore very much. With Rm50, i say i got all what i want, double eye lids and full volume eye lashes.

Here is my before and after picture. Judge for yourself. Enjoy.

Before(below): dull, not attractive eye without mascara or fake lashes

After (below): Full lashes, long and enchanting

Gara gara Tv

U know what i am really into the tv fighting in any family there is bound to have tv fights. If not between the football channel or the fashion show or the cartoon channel. Is it wise to have too many channel in your tv? one can really fight for a lifetime to find solution to these. Some will say definitely to compromised but how far can someone able to compromised your special time with TV? It is never a lost to compromised because it is always a replay in another time. Sure but it is always the social intuition to be the first to know the latest result, news or outcome. We are brought up in very competitive society where we always want to be the first.
Second, we are all different individually therefor we have very different needs and interest. The guys will definitely love footballs or generally speaking sports channel. My husband is not an exception. He will rather spend a whole 2 hours cheering his favorite team at the coffee shop with his friends rather than celebrating birthdays or quality time with family. It's their get away card. For us ladies, we are no exception to fashion and soap dramas. Fashion channel is a quick fixer upper for your out of fashion collection since the 90's. Then, come to the soap dramas where we would trade up half to an hour sad, dramatic scene of a love triangle scenarios.
Kids will rather trade in their vegetables than missing their favorite cartoon on air. They have anime, Disney channel and Nickelodeon channel.
I feel like most of the tv shows noaway are not really worth watching especially the reality show where some people are in competition , cried their tears out and sweat blood only to realised that there are only going to be 1 winner in the end. Don't they know that in the first place? Some time i belive these are just being acted up. Tired to see them being voted off, and the dramas being in the competition. So there goes the drama from philo.

Interview is in session!

When you have graduated from college, first thing in your mind is, will i ever get my dream job in the grueling - competitive world out there? will i ever do my job with confidence and to applied my 50, 000Rm of knowledge that i manage to get all in summarized in one lovely A4 sized certificate? I am sure every graduates wonder about this in moment or another.
For me, it was hard as by the time i graduated, Sarawak was not ready for me - an IT qualified graduate. Looking for an IT dream job is scares as looking for a needle in a haystack. IT job in the 2000 are not highly in demand and not a highly paid job. You will either have a choice between sales assistance in a computer hardware shop or a general worker in Taiyo or Silicon (which is now known as XFab). Don't get me wrong and i had applied to Gov job and semi-Gov, somehow i know they preferred to lean on graduates from Local U.
However, i manage to land a job offered by my old college as an administrative office. And I am happily worked there for 2 years. With the luck and my curiosity of better perspective, I have move to the another administrative work which not based on my qualification but on my 2 years experience in my previous job. Landed there and worked there for another 3 years. And after 5 years and many bad breakup relationship, i managed to settle happily with my man. I couldn't have ask for better life. Then come the splurge of luck, my man manage to land a promotion which required him to move to a relative place, Sibu. With that increase in money department, my man decided that it is time for me to be a housewife and tend to his needs. It was a lovely idea and it worked out well.
When you are single, job commitment is not an issue. When you are married, people questioned your commitment like a steak grilled and poked by poker to burn both sides. This is what happened: A while later, i was given the opportunity to work as an IT trainer in an IT center which is going to be step up in my own village, Kampung Serasot. Of course, I applied for the job and with my husband and families support, I am happy too. Finally I got the call, and I went for the interview. First question is always introduced yourself. One look at my application form, here come all the questions:
You are from Sibu?! You travel all the way from Sibu to come for the interview?! What if you are working in Bau and you have to travel far to see your husband?! Will your husband return to Kuching to work?! Are you able to work in this environment?! Being far from your husband? If you take this job, you are required to stay in the rural area, in the kampung. And so on and so on.
It was one of those interview, you know you've failed miserably. When did becoming married is a commitment issue? I was stunt. I knew what was expected of me when i applied for the job and it was no different with any other job. Take teacher for example. One of my best friend is a teacher and married to a teacher. She is working in Bintulu and her man in working in Miri. With 200km separate them, they still manage to have a happier marriage than any other couple i knew working together. Commitment issue is not an issue as long as you have the heart and mind on the job. If there's a way to measure commitment, I am sure jumping straight to it. As normal people or human being will do, its called Adapting. Human being are capable of adapting to changes around them. So, what i am saying is I will adapt to the changes required by my job. After with the support and love from both my husband and families, what else is there to worry?

Potential changes in life

I am 27 years old today and i can say, within these years, there are a lot of changes that I have gone though. Physical Changes from being a baby to teen then to young adult and coming to full grown adult. Mental changes, from a girl who love dolls to woman who loved COACH brand bags and high heels. Emotional changes, from puppy first crush to a commitment based relationship then ends to married couples.
Carreer wise - from being a student, then to an officer then to..... well, thats the thing. I can never figure out the end to that sentences. I am always wondering the carreer ladder of a human race. And many of us believed that it is always started from the lowest of jobs. But, does anyone wonder how long does someone takes to complete that ladder to the highest step. It can be in 5 years, 10 years, or even for some forever. Who and What are the factor to contribute to these years? In my experiences are the management and the amount of works you are willing to take on. If you are willing to take on the management, then bravo. If you are wiling to take on the amount of works given to you, then bravo. However, in these two sentences, I have not included any adjectives to the topics discussed. It is a fantasy.
Many of us will definitely go through the session called Interview. Interview is a limbo where there is no certainty. Job vacancies in our parents time, it was always the newspaper or public notices at some goverment office to annouce of such vacancies open. Thanks to the world wide web and the internet, newspapers are ancient. Current trend, word of mouth post. Most good vacancies in good companies nowaday are never published but onle spread through word of mouth. Nowaday, most corporate are using what i called; introducer' interview. For this session, you are guarenteed to have 100% in getting the job you are applying for. Attending an introducer interview is just a formality even if you warm up the chair for less then 5 minutes. Second is the 10 thousand step interview where companies will respond to 10 thousand of resume, and 10 thousand step of screen through and in the end you will found out there is only 1 vacancy open. Interview can be brutal. Interviewer has the right to humiliate you in any way possible and crush any hope or confidence you have with you to non-existance.

The reader in Me

One day, I got really bored that literally started talking to myself. So, i started to rekindle my passion of reading. So after a quick drop at the bank, i stop by at Popular bookstore where I started to look around for a good book to read. Maybe a magazine perhaps, but after a quick flip nothing interest me. So i moved to the Fiction section. A stack of books by Jodi Picoult, Cecelia Ahern, Sophie Kinsella and many more staring at me but still nothing interest me. Then, i resort to our local writter, and one book in particular catch my attention. Yvonne lee , "Madness Aboard: Welcome to plane insanity", "Vanity Drive" and her bestseller " The sky is crazy:Tales from a trolley dolly. I have always wanted to be an air-stewardess for a long time and i felt that i could relate my passion to her books. True enough, i couldn't put the book down. I immediately bought two of her books and drove home quickly so i can have the time to read them.
So, I started to read my first choice, Vanity drive and boy! the book give me a great laugh of her husband comments and reaction on her vanity which reminds me of my husband who did the same things and reminisce on how i did go through the same vanity things mention in the book. It didn't took me long to finish it and by the time i reach the last pages, I am some what disappointed as I can't have enough of the book. It was a GREAT book.
That night, I immediately started the next book; Madness aboard. it was really humorous yet filled with interesting facts. Until now, i have new respect for air stewardess and the challenges they have to go through with different type of passengers from different places around the world. All these while, I thought being a stewardess was just the opportunity to go round the world was a bonus but never about dealing with people individuality, demand and needs. After all, that's whats its all about. Hospitality. I had my share of laugh and fun reading this book and I can't wait to get my hand on the other one. The best seller " The sky is crazy:Tales from a trolley dolly"

The Flying Stork

Another sleepless night. I can't sleep thinking why I haven't been bless with children. I have been wondering what went wrong. I mean. its been 9 months trying. Is that enough?
I wanted to try everything that I can think of just to get pregnant. Part of me, envy those who are blessed with good news especially those married in the same year as I did. Part of me, doubt myself if i am ready to have my own. Truthfully, I am not financially ready, but i know emotionally I am. Heck! Those knocked up couples; well they managed to provide food on the table. My dilemma is; I love looking at kids running around in the mall, babies crying endlessly at night, kids nagging the moms for toys. Sometimes, I hate going to the places where i could see all these. I was trying to avoid looking at something that I crave to have myself.
I was emotionally angry at my husband and trying to find a solace place in my mind that everything is going to be fine. So, in the end, I have come up with a schedule to keep myself busy. What else to keep a woman busy; house chores, keeping fit, gardening, cooking, washing, reading and watching tv / online surfing. But, will this be enough? I realized that I have so much time now to do basically whatever I want to do. Go to honeymoon, visit places I haven't gone to, buy stuff that I always wanted, take dancing, yoga, make up classes. When the time is right, is right. I hope it does.
So i was determine to do all of these before I regret having lots of time for myself.

Valentine Day - 14 Feb 2011

I have been looking forward to spend and experience our first valentine celebration in Sibu. So, both of us went out to search the perfect place for a good romantic dinner.
Our hunt started at Secret Garden Grill - it was cozy, with ideal lighting but it also has this pub and lounge scenery which hubby don't really agree.
Next stop, was at Terminal 5 - 1st floor open air, beautiful interior design eating place. However, the food are to common and not to my liking.
Last suggestion was at Secret Recipe - scenario pleasant, food up to standard and plus side + cakes and smoothies.
Finally we decided on Secret Recipe.

I also make a hand-made card which consist of love origami and written messages from our memories as couple. I have rose scented candles placed all over the room with rose petal everywhere. you could use it as an idea for your own. Easy to make.

Sarawak Cultural Village - Feb 2011

Another month in Sibu and I am getting use to getting things done on my own. It is really delightful and also BORING! To compare sibu and Kuching, it is really a big difference between an ant and an elephant.
Luckily, i had a break to Kuching for the CNY. Thank God! I was planning to rough it up here in Sibu, but luck strike us and Off we go to spend a week.
For the week, I had time to hang out with grace and went on an outing to SCV with sylvia. Those who don't know it - Sarawak Cultural Village. The only kind in the World.
Well, after 15 years from my last visit there - I can say there are so few new and many old's.
These are some new features: plus a miniature waterfront.

Those that are old:

It was refreshing to visit memory lane but pity the memory is a memory. It is still the same old one from 15 years ago. Come on! after 10 years of having hosted rainforest music festival and tourists coming in and out, nothing is being done to maintain each of the race's house. Bidayuh house bamboo floor is rotting and i can feel it cannot sustain my weight. Walking to the 'Baruk', one part of it has a hole in it and was covered with shelf. Next stop. Iban house. It lacks of Iban traditional items and nothing scream out Iban except for its sign.
The Sarawak Cultural Village is one-of-a-kind museum - doesn't mean it has to be old, and deteriorating after time as it is a living museum.
